Dear ROCS Parents,
I hope you had a lovely long weekend! Last week was busy at ROCS, with field trips, guest speakers, and a wonderful Winter Faire!
Some updates and reminders:
- Calendar reminders: we have early dismissals on March 8 and March 29; Spring Break is April 1- April 5. Looking ahead to EOG’s: the testing window is May 27-June 7; specific grade-level and small-group testing days are being developed and will be shared as they become available.
- Clothing swap: We’re hosting a clothing swap next Saturday 9:00-11:00AM. Clothing contributions are welcome but not required to “shop.”
- Staff discussions: ROCS teachers are in active discussions surrounding how to best support students who are experiencing dysregulation. Our Parent/Student Handbook is currently being updated to include guidelines for those supports – those updates will be highlighted in a near-future message.
- Communications: Hopefully we can all agree that social media has positive and negative effects on how we connect and communicate. We love using these platforms for community-building, but when concerns arise (and they naturally do), please contact your child’s teacher directly as a first step to having them addressed.
- Promotional video: We’ll be adding it to the website, but you can preview a video about ROCS here. Please feel free to share it with interested families!
- Our new home: Site clearing has begun! I’ll provide ongoing updates as they’re available. The address is 3600 Sungate Blvd., and target date for completion is December 2024.
